Decompression Time

As the holidays progress, most of us need to take a few moments to decompress.  For Friendship Friday you can share whatever you like but I'm also wondering what you do to reduce stress as the holidays approach?  Maybe you enjoy watching tv, hiding in your sewing room, or reading a book?

I like to look at quilts and thought I would share some inspiration for you today for those moments when you can take a break.

My first feature is a current quilter named Karen Duling.  Karen's quilts are interesting to me because of their social messages and also the sense of humor.

Check out "A Herd of Turtles on a Drunkard's Path" here.

Here is a gallery of her work.  And an interview of her is here.

Sometimes a quilt just surprises you like this one that appeared on Auction Zip a while ago.  It's an interesting version of a crazy quilt and sold for only $125!!!

Many museums have digitized their collections for people to view.  You may enjoy the American Folk Museum's collection--with 42 pages (count em!) of quilts!  You can start here and peruse to your heart's content!

If you have a tip for "decompression time" how about sharing it with us by emailing it to allentownquilter@gmail.com!

Have a safe and stress free day!
