Could be worse....

Happy Thursday!

Well nothing went as planned this week.  But it could be worse...Marquette, Michigan received a whopping 19 inches of snow on May 1.

And then it kept snowing in Marquette...last I heard they had received 25 inches of snow.

I was going to begin posting the McKim series on Wednesday but when I awoke, the computer was "updating."  I'm not sure why it always chooses to do this in the early morning (and usually the only time I use the computer regularly).  But the updates go on and on and on....

But then I remembered...it could be worse, I could be shoveling in Marquette, Michigan.

It's been raining a lot the last week or so.  The weather is cool and the weeds and grass are going nuts.  I'm not working in crappy weather...its the first time  in weeks I haven't filled 3 garbage cans with weeds and garden debris...

I even had coffee pot challenges on Wednesday.  Not sure why, but the water is filling the pot so rapidly that my "coffee" tastes like warm water.  But then I remembered...it could be worse, I could be in Marquette and not have power at all.

So behalf of all of us...Marquette, you have our sympathy and prayers.

Here's wishing that ALL of North America begins to experience some real spring weather.

What is going on in your world?  Any flower photos you can share for Flower Friday?  Let us know how you are doing.  And remember the next time you want to grumble...that it could be worse...

Have a safe and happy day!

  2. Good news here, this morning our local weatherman said today was the last frost until fall. Now I personally wouldn't be surprised if we'd get another frost because, hey predicting weather is a risky business but you're right, frost is better than Marquette Michigan! And children don't even get snow days anymore, it's just changed to an e-learning day. If I were you, I'd get a new coffeemaker. Happy stitching!

  3. I've been to Marquette. Can't imagine what it must be like, even though we had 20" one week this winter, somehow being that far north makes it worse.

  4. Oh my goodness, poor Marquette! I thought our 8 days of rain was awful for May, but better than poor Marquette. That was funny how you wound that into your post, Michele. Thanks for the smile!
