Flower Friday: September 20, 2024

Greetings and Happy Flower Friday!

Nann sent an image of a really neat looking flower called Bottle Gentian.

Nann wrote that bumblebees are the only pollinators strong enough to get into the plant.  And she got a photo of one doing that!

Another photo of a Fringed Gentian.  You can see the fringe on the petals:

Nann took all these photos on a path near Lake Michigan.  Thanks Nann!

How about something else that is purple?  My clematis is blooming again.  The plant looks terrible (because of the drought) but it was nice to see a cheerful flower!

Have a safe and happy weekend!

  1. So nice to see flowers! The gentian is lovely. My Grandpa Ott morning glories are purple and bloom in the mornings despite having very little foliage around them due to the drought. I am definitely moving my bird garden into the shade for next year!
