MEMORIES CALLING!
You know it wasn't that "the good ol' days" were so much better than now. A lot of youngsters can't imagine the world without internet and social media. At one point, Carol's grandkids found an old rotary phone in the basement. They couldn't figure out how to use and were so enamored with it they begged to take it home (grandma let them). There are a lot of youtube videos of kids trying to use a rotary phone. I think this video is hilarious. Anyway, here are some phone related memory memes to brighten your day!
What a wonderful trip down memory lane! LOL for Prince Albert. The Chicago area was among the first to get touch-tone phones--1964 or thereabouts. My parents got them [we had a blue wall phone in the kitchen and a green desk phone in the basement family room]. My mother said years later that it was an attempt to appease my sister who really, really wanted to have a phone in her room like her best friend. Decades after that we found out that they'd never changed over to modular jacks; the phones were hard-wired.....And now I continue to pay for a land line and every month ask myself why.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't remember putting a dime or two into your pocket to access your mobile phone? hahahaha I give out my land line number for all the marketers who want to send me text messages. That is one use for the line. :) Bridget
ReplyDeleteI remember taking my boys to a technology museum in Ottawa. They had a rotary phone display that called another phone in the room, and they didn’t know how to dial the phone. Cheers, Louise
