Exhibit at Sigal Museum in Easton PA
Just found a post on Facebook that the Sigal Museum is currently exhibiting quilts:
The Sigal Museum is very quilt friendly and Easton is a wonderful city to explore. The Sigal Museum is located at 342 Northampton Street, Easton PA.
Details from the Sigal website:
The Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society (NCHGS) has given the members of the Courthouse Quilters their 2016 challenge: Create authentic artisan quilts inspired by the Society’s own rich collection of quilts! This textile challenge and exhibition happily celebrates the patchwork tradition of Northampton County.
Courthouse Quilters and Patchwork Tradition exhibition will cover the history of quilting by hand and machine with a hands-on interactive opportunity for visitors, unique programming, and one-of-a-kind quilts. The Courthouse Quilters’ creations utilize a variety styles like applique and spider web designs from popular Victorian crazy quilts.
From April 16-August 1, 2016, these colorful one-of-a-kind Courthouse Quilts, in conjunction with NCHGS’ unique collection of quilts, will be on display exclusively at the Sigal Museum in Historic Downtown Easton.

2016 Mennonite Relief Sale
Each year the Mennonite Community gathers for an open preview of quilts that are going up for auction at the Pennsylvania Relief Sale. It is fun to look at the quilts and often I have gotten good ideas from looking at these quilts
But most of all, we antique and vintage quilt lovers adore the Quilter's Corner available at the preview. You may find wonderful bargains on antique and vintage fabric, ufos, patterns, linens, books and other vintage items. I've even found some assembled pieces there. It's hard to say what exactly is in store for this year's preview in Ephrata but you may see something similar to the beauties on this post.
The preview will be held at the Material Resources Center at 517 Trout Run Road, Ephrata PA 17522 on March 3, 4, 5. Thursday and Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday it is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I suggest you go early because the lines start forming WAY before the shop opens.
The 2016 Pennsylvania Relief Sale will be held April 1 and 2 at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex. For more information you can go to www.pareliefsale.org . Enjoy!

Christmas Market this Weekend!
There were a variety of different German groups that settled in Pennsylvania and this weekend you can explore the holiday cultures of three of these groups!
A wonderful tour of Pennsylvania German Christmas traditions and folk art will be presented at three preservation societies near the Lehigh Valley.
CHRISTMAS MARKET is scheduled for this weekend, December 5 and 6, 2015.
Explore our beautiful region and these three cultural centers:
The Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center (http://www.schwenkfelder.com) will have shopping and an elaborate Christmas Putz to view. This is one of my favorite museums and just a short drive outside the valley.
The Mennonite Heritage Center(http://mhep.org) features a wide selection of reproduction folk art as well as other activities.
The Goschenhoppen Historians (http://www.goschenhoppen.org) will transform Red Men's Hall into a Christmas wonderland!
I'm sure there will be food at all the venues and they are fairly close so you can tour all three!
For more information about the Christmas Market, follow this link for details. Let me know if you have a chance to attend!
