Yes, we are getting summer-like weather! It's just part of spring here. It will be in the 90s until Thursday and then cool off again. Our bodies have already gone into "summer routine"; I wake up at the crack of dawn, walk Lucky as the sun rises. Water garden and clean the house, and sew. I'll be enjoying sewing this week!
I spent the weekend working in the garden. Happily, I've planted the tomatoes, peppers, and herbs because the temperature to the 90s (farenheit) until Thursday. My husband thought I was crazy for buying 9 tomato plants but he's now embraced the idea. If we are to harvest any tomatoes at all, we have to over prepare for the onslaught of the pilfering squirrels. Fortunately Lucky has got a sixth sense about squirrels and appears to sense when they are in the garden. Except yesterday when he was chasing bunnies. 😕
I'll be making "cool" meals now and just in time. The oven died. It happened while baking two loaves of my husband's favorite zucchini bread. It didn't stop working but went 100 degrees above what I set and burned the bread within 20 minutes. It was foruitous...I don't tend to bake in the summer because of the high heat and now that is done until the new oven arrives in a few weeks.
Well I must go out and water before he gets too warm! Stay cool if you are in the heat zone!
Have a safe and happy day!
