Greetings and Salutations!
Well today I'm here to tell you that I won't be blogging until Friday. So if you have any Flower Friday photos to share, please email me at allentownquilter@gmail.com!
It's time for a new path--LITERALLY! After a decade of nagging my husband, he has finally agreed to a new path.
One of the charming aspects of our little cottage was the winding path that was dotted with slate. The path was put in by the previous owner and is about 40 years old.
And I don't like it. The slates are very slippery when wet and worse when it's icy. Then about 10 years ago, the slates became loose and some popped out. I complained to my husband and he tried to repair spots (sorry to say, not so well). At this point, it's just dangerous and my husband has finally acquiesced about the path. We are in the process of moving plants out of the way of the contractor who arrives on Wednesday.
So needless to say, I'm very excited about finally having a safe entrance to our home!
It is actually a good time for this. I'm moving a lot of my plants out back and going to sow grass in the front left bed. It's too much to do all these beds anymore and I want to have an easier garden routine before I get much older.
So I'm wishing you a delightful week and hope to hear from some of you for Flower Friday!
Have a safe and happy day!
Love that photo of your house with the beautiful front garden! So glad you're getting a new, safer path, too. I'm sending you a photo for Flower Friday - it's a flowering tree in our yard. Hope that works!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your house will be just as charming with the new safer walkway.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a big project. It will feel so good when you are finished. The slate looks good but I don't blame you for wanting it gone especially because it is slick when wet.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love your cottage! The garden in front is my favorite kind. What will you put in place of the slate? My husband was business administrator for a church that had put in a beautiful slate gathering hall before he started working there. The ladies were constantly catching their heels in it, and one woman fell on it and broke something. They are pretty to look at but lethal.
