Flower Friday: May 30, 2025

It hardly seems possible that it is the end of May already.  I know that time goes by faster for me as I get older but this month seemed like only 2 weeks.  I think it was because that the beneficial rain meant little gardening this month.

Today we have some lovely flowers to feature!

From Nancy who doesn't have a lot of space for gardening but who does have this lovely clematis.  Just look at the amount of flowers on there!

Sue sent some lovely photos as well.
The following photos are all from her garden!

Here are her irises:

Poppy!

Market on Thursday

I think I'm going to have to embroider the above motif.  Thursday is indeed our market day because our local Farmer's Market is open Thursday through Saturday.  Do you have a local Farmer's Market?

Also...Although Lucky's behavior is much improved, he still has tantrums.  These occur when I won't let him jump on people, when we are leaving the park, or he has to leave a dog friend.  His tantrums very much resemble the dog above.  I'll have to change the ears and make one to look like Lucky 😁

Tomorrow is Flower Friday so if you want to share anything, email me!

Have a safe and happy day!

Tuesday's This and That: May 27, 2025

Greetings friends!

I hope you all have been well and enjoying the spring.

Here we are doing better.  It's rained and rained and rained.  It's been beneficial.  Some areas of the valley are now in "moderate drought".   Where we are now is considered "abnormally dry".

All this rain meant little work in the garden.  When I can garden, my main focus is weeding and getting rid of invasive perennials.  A lot of plants are being put in pots for family and friends.  But I haven't completed even a 1/3 of the job yet.

Speaking of ducks, we have a pair living down the street at Tinkerbell's yard.  We aren't sure why they are here.  The lake is two blocks away.  The ducks are also not that scared of the dogs!  You can see Mrs. Mallard on the right side of the photo.

I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting many comments on my blog.  I recently figured out that your comments were going to the spam box.  This must have been happening since I got the new computer because there are tons of comments.  I'm sorry and will hopefully get your remarks now!

Flower Friday: May 9, 2025

In this part of the country, we are celebrating the fact that we've gotten rain this past week!

Carolyn sent some lovely photos this week:

Wild geraniums also known as sticky geraniums!

Carolyn is in South Jersey where they are also experiencing drought.  She also sent a photo of her columbine but said there weren't many blooms this year.  Wishing you rain Carolyn!

Thank you Carolyn!

Our friend Sue is in Northern New Jersey.  She shared what's happening there too!  Thanks Sue!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

I hope you are going to have a wonderful day!

I'm also letting you know that I need to take a blog break--EXCEPT on Flower Friday.  I welcome any photos you want to share (allentownquilter@gmail.com).

I've so much work to get done here and not the least of it is the garden.  A big problem is the lack of rainfall and it's hard to move plants while they are so stressed.

I also need to get some things done in the house and I'm hoping to accomplish more while my husband is on a business trip.

Maybe when I get back, I'll have more things to share (I've been depleted on the writing front as well).

Have a safe and happy week!
I'll see you on Friday!
